BURCON ANNOUNCES CHANGE TO INVESTOR RELATIONS PROGRAM IN EUROPE
Vancouver, British Columbia, August 2, 2007 – Burcon NutraScience Corporation (TSXV: BU) announces today the resignation of Mr. Roderick Adams of London, United Kingdom. Mr. Adams was engaged in October 2006 to assist Burcon with its existing investor relations program in Europe. The initial term of the investor relations agreement (the “Agreement”) between Burcon and Mr. Adams was for 8 months but extendable for another 12 months unless either party gave written notice to the other party to renegotiate or terminate the Agreement no less than 30 days prior to the renewal term. The Agreement was also terminable upon 30 days notice by either party. Due to his other professional commitments, Mr. Adams decided, on July 3, 2007, to provide Burcon with notice of termination of the Agreement. Over the last 10 months, Mr. Adams has assisted Burcon with its investor relations activities and communication strategies in Europe.
Since 2003, Burcon has been working with Axino AG in Germany to assist Burcon in developing its investor relations program in Europe. Going forward, Burcon intends to work exclusively with Axino to further investor awareness in Europe. Burcon believes that working with a single investor relations consultant can cost-effectively provide investors in that region with a central point of contact for investor communications.
”We appreciate and thank Mr. Adams for his contributions to Burcon’s investor relations program.”
