Burcon has over a decade of experience in developing high-quality plant proteins and has successfully developed a revolutionary novel soy protein isolate, CLARISOY™ and is developing PEAZAZZ™, a uniquely soluble and clean-tasting pea protein isolate, and Supertein™, Puratein® and Nutratein canola protein isolates with unique functional and nutritional attributes.

After years of research on developing these products to meet Burcon’s expectations of commercial quality standards, significant experience and know-how have been amassed in running large-scale pilot operations. A critical part of that development process has been devoted to identifying and fine tuning critical control points and proving the reliability of Burcon’s processes. These efforts have validated the scalability of our core protein extraction and purification process and Burcon has documented the technology to engineer and manufacture full scale production plants with a high degree of reliability.

Since October 1999, we have raised gross proceeds of approximately $49.1 million through the sale of equity securities on a public and private basis, the exercise of stock options and share purchase warrants, as well as through rights offerings to existing shareholders. This capital has been used, and will continue to be used, to fund research, development, regulatory recognition and commercialization of our patented and patent-pending protein extraction and purification technologies.
